The inspiration for this metal bookmark comes from a Brinsmaid House art glass pattern from Arthur Heun, an architect working during the Prairie School period.

Though Frank Lloyd Wright is its best-known practitioner, there are many other exceptional architects who worked in the Prairie School style. One was Arthur Heun, who in 1901 designed art glass windows for the Brinsmaid House. The distinctive elements of the windows are the chevron patterns, whose angles echo the broadly projecting gables of the house.
